Overview
Norton Ghost backs up everything on your computer including: digital music, photos, financial documents, applications, settings and operating system all in one easy step.
With the incredible protection of Norton Ghost you can rest assured that your system and data will be recovered even when you can't restart your operating system.
How does it do this? Norton Ghost makes incremental backups to maximize space and save time, it also backups on the fly, without restarting your system. Finally, Norton Ghost will back up to almost any media, including CDR/RW and DVD+-R/RW drives, USB and FireWire® (IEEE 1394) devices, and Iomega® Zip® and Jaz® drives
Norton Ghost has the ease and user friendly interface that you have come to expect from Symantec. Using a one-step setup wizard to make installation and configuration quick and easy, Ghost will automatically create an initial backup schedule based on your computer's configuration. It will automatically detect storage devices, analyze your system, and offer "best practice" backup advice right away during installation.
Once installed, Norton Ghost will automatically monitor and optimize backup disk space as well as creates new backups on demand with One Button "Back Up Now” and encrypts backups to help keep them secure. Maxtor external drives will begin back up by simply pressing the Maxtor OneTouch™ button.
Ghost software even triggers backups on key events, like new program installations or user logins. The task-based interface simplifies management and monitoring by displaying all scheduled backups. It will also show you the degree of backup protection for each drive on your computer – all in one convenient view.
